If I had direct personal knowledge that someone was that sick (in other words, I saw him do it), I would not turn my head, I would probably help finish him off mercifully.
But I'm from Texas and we don't generally have a problem with shooting a rabid dog. It's not fun, but it must be done.

No, I couldn't turn my head, I would call the authorities! He would get the medical treatment he needed, and then be put in prison away from children. Maybe he will learn of God's love there through a visiting preacher.
EDIT: There is something horribly wrong with society when this many people say they would watch someone die (not matter who it is) and not have a guilty conscience about it afterwards. Quite frankly, I'm shocked.

Wow if I was faced with that, I don't know what I'd do. I would like to think that I'd save him and not have his death on my hands either but then again I'd probably feel awful if I saved him, he spent 2 years in jail and then raped again. I think the look on the potential victims face would be worse than the one on his if I let him go. Of course I'm sure I wouldn't have this kind of time to ponder it. I would hope that I wouldn't play God as that is arrogant... but I'm only human and am not sure what I'd do if truly faced with this predicament.

It is not easy to answer this question truthfully, from a biblical point of view.
The Bible teaches that we are not to judge people and most do not understand what that means. It simply means that we are not to judge others as to wither they are going to be saved or not.
With this in mind, I could not just let that person die. For it would be committing murder, Christ said that if you hate your brother you have killed him.
Another point is that most people even “Christians” do not understand that we are to love the sinner as Christ loved us and at the same time it is ok to have a hated of Sin Gen 3:15.
But know you have to ask yourself what is sin?
Romans 3:20 “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
Romans 7:7 “What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.”
So if we know the Law of God then we should know that if we break the Commandments of God we have sinned. That means that we need to understand and to keep the Ten Commandments of God mot just nine of them. But there is Hope is Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God.

I'd probably hold his head under water, making sure he drowns, or spray the burning car with lighter fluid, or tighten the knot on the noose so that it doesn't slip out.
This is the reason why most rapes go unreported. The victim is protecting her family - otherwise surely a brother/father would do something violent against the offender.
Jeffery Dahmer was beaten to death and raped with a broken broomstick. No guard came to his aid, no inmate was written up, no investigation was launched.

It is not legally murder. In america ( and probably any common law country) there is no duty to come to the aid of another unless you either caused the problem or stand in a special relationship to them that would impose a duty on you ( parant child, fireman-victim, doctor-paitiant, etc).
Being morally culpable is a different story. I would say that if you have reason to believe he will rape again you have a moral duty to let him die. If, however, you are just basing your decision on past acts letting him die may be immoral, putting your self in the place of judge and jury.

He is only worth saving if I got a undeniably strong message from God to save him. Otherwise if I was in close contact with him I would tell him that he has sinned, that there is still time to repent and that he can receive forgiveness today.
Yes, he is down at the bottom of the scum pond, but God has accepted sincere apologies from worse people.

Can not answer this question directly but as a former military medic I would(and did) take care of an American or an Allied/coalition solider before an enemy/aggressor.
So someone died while waiting on care.
And if the "sick" person here was the aggressor then so be it.

It would be murder if we let someone die when we know they could be easily saved by us.
If he is a rapist, then I would save him and hand him to the police so that law can take its course.
But I have no right to take his life, by deliberate neglect.

I think I could let such a person die, yes. That would not make me a murderer. Whether I would be morally right to do so I don't know.
I don't believe life is sacred. I also haven't sworn the Hippocrates Oath that all doctors have sworn by (to help any fellow human who needs their help).
