1. My starter is getting replaced today. Could the starter had been shorted by a severe power steering leak I also have?
2. Where can I get "how to directions" offline on how to fix the power steering pump?
3. fuse is good, why don't my power mirrors work?
Any productive help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
please don't give me any crap about owning a Ford, in its defense, it does have 120,000 miles on it.

You are just out of luck. You bought what is affectionately known (World Wide) as the "Ford Ex-plod-er". Were there any justice in this government Ford would be forced to warranty these "things" for ten years or 500,000 miles. Ford s finally headed for it's just reward (bankruptcy) because people can not afford to fix the trash they sell as vehicles. And, they sell mainly to the poor.

Ok here we go you should go online to see the recalls on that model and get it fixed at an authorized ford dealer the power mirrors sometimes the gears get stripped because they are made of plastic same with the power windows and look up this web site for fixing the power steering pump it may need to be replaced: http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?UseCase=RG001&UserAction=beginRepairGuide

starter failure due to power steering fluid leak--not likely..unless selinoid was saturated and fluid in connection cause a short in connection to fail, and 2nd ? if pump body, replace pump with res. but you have to have special tool to remove pulley, #3, have you checked the relays, or could be the switch..check connector to switch for voltage, if yes, then bad switch...if not then maybe short in wiring from power distribution box to switch..
