Television stations cannot discriminate as to their programming. If a television preacher has the money to buy airtime, in most cases they cannot be denied. Television stations are in the business of making money. That's the bottom line.

I believe the "air time" is sold. As far as the T.V. Preachers go, pul-leassssse let us not forget the rest of TV's greedy scam artists....
all trying to sell something or the other for double what its worth.
Vitamins and/or Dietary Supplements
Exercise Equipment
Hair Growth Products
Set It and Forget It Cookware
Miracle Water
Get Rich CD's
Vacuum Cleaners - (that can lift refrigerators)- Yeah Right!
Age Creams - (that remove 20 yrs of wrinkles)-Dont we wish!
Drugs to enhance a mans sex drive... as well as his golf game I think!! LOL

Its something or the other for just 3 easy low payments of $$$$..... plus shipping and handling! In my opinion, the majority of these types of programs are "Get Rich"scams ! Them , not us .

Look at the bigger picture. These television evangelists that cry and beg for money at the expense of the people wanting to believe in something will have their eternal compensation after this life. They will then be willing to give all the money back, but won't be able to do so.

They don't feel like they are wasting air time as they get paid to broadcast the show. Sunday morning is one of the hardest times for television station to sell commercial time.

TV Companies want money. They will broadcast anyone who 1) pays them 2) doesn't want the TV Companies to broadcast things that will get the TV Companies in trouble and 3) will generate good audience ratings.

If people don't watch, they will not be on the TV. So the TV Companies like preachers who say controversial things as it generates more watchers.

If they say things that get the TV companies in trouble, they will not be on TV.

If not paid, they will not be on TV.

So stop watching them?

As religions seem to be exempt from fraud allegations and investigations, you will not get them off the TV for not telling the truth. I remember that one guy who would say, put your hand on the TV and we will heal you. Except I never met anyone who was healed.

Some of them are down-right dangerous. And, as a Christian, it appalls me that they're so visible and the good work that humble Christians do just isn't seen. Still, they've got a right to free speech like everyone else. I just choose never to watch them. But there are many people who do and who are taken in by their pleas for donations. If people didn't learn anything from the Jim and Tammi Bakker mess in the 90's, what can they learn from?

The stations don't consider it a waste: they get paid big bucks for airing that stuff. Guess where the money comes from.

As long as the government doesn't enforce laws against fraud on these people and as long as there are enough sheeple out there sending in their hard earned dollars so that these con men (and women) can continue to fleece them, you will see them on TV. Religion is the ultimate con, it is government protected, tax free and the product they sell doesn't have to be delivered until you reach a place that doesn't exist. No wonder so many people jump on this manured money wagon.

Simple, some of the money the preachers scam goes to the guys selling airtime. I just feel bad for the desperate and trusting people that loose their money to these thieves.

These preachers pay for their air time-----the whole thing is a business. So, it is not wasted time----someone is being paid for that time, and making money on it.
