You do not need anything to open a bank account besides a small amount of money ($10).

It has nothing to do with your credit.

You should not have any problems opening up a bank account for direct deposit of your pay check. Just open up your account and fill out the direct deposit form and give it to your employer and the bank gets a copy of your direct deposit form. Just go and do it NOW you shouldn't have any problems.

Yep, I was direct-deposited on my refund, I qualify for the stimulus check, and my last two numbers are 00. It's 1:18pm on 2 May and still nothing. I'm a bit puzzled because I was under the impression that all deposits would be completed by 8:30am today. Either I misunderstood or something is amiss.

I think that the bank will give you a savings account if you are honest and up front with them. Getting a checking account or an account with an ATM Card involves more risk on the bank's side, and they may not be willing to do that.

I know of two ways:

You can download your check to a purpose card basically the same as a debit card (loadable debit card) or a Credit union.

I don't think it matters what your credit check is. But hurry up and do it before your bankruptcy goes through just incase they do credit checks.
