No. The word "Jew" means two things:
-a follower of Judaism,
-a member of the Jewish people.
People from other ethnicities may convert to Judaism, so outward appearance is not a reliable means of identification.

Here is the problem with this question. First, the original "Jew" has long been made impure by foreign bloodlines. Perhaps there are many in Israel that have remained pure, but considering that I can "become" a Jew by following Judaism is interesting. I have met a Jew who was Ethiopian and guess what? he looked like an Ethiopian. There are instances in the scripture (Old Testament) of foreign bloodlines becoming Jews and also times when Jewish sons were marrying the daughters of other cultures. Even with this said, there are certain features in all people in areas of the world where their families have basically remained in that same spot, i.e., Ukranians. I have personally been witness to that. Interesting question though.

Yngona D got it right. If a woman of any faith or race were to convert to Judaism, her child would be a born Jew just as any other born Jew. David's grandmother was the first conversion to Judaism, making the line of David beginning with a convert.

Those of you who "believe" in science will understand that children very often look like their parents. Those of you who "believe" that Jews are a race will recognize a Jew at first glance.

You can tell by the words and actions of people if they are a christian or not. Out of the mouth speaks the soul. Actiions speak louder than words. God says all are as one, it matters not if one is a Jew, black, white, native American etc we are all one in Christ! We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. Satan wants to divide us any way he can by races, or any tactic he can...how about uniting what we have in common and not dividing by such foolishness. LOVE & PEACE

If I were to look at Madonna, Dr Laura, or the late Sammy Davis Jr, I would not suspect that any of them were Jewish. So I would say no.

Sometimes you can because of facial features but many Italians can pass as having Jewish features as well. I know plenty of blond haired, blue eyed Jewish people that you would think were perhaps irish though.

Yeah, just like you can tell by looking at someone if they are christian, muslim, buddhist, atheist, agnostic. I can, however, tell by what you've typed that you're an ignorant person.

Not sure about that, but I had met a guy in college that I thought for sure one of his parents were black and one white. He was 100% Jewish.
