Why is that the calories and ingredients aren't on the can of coffee? Is there something in it that they don't want us to know about?

I have wondered that myself, I just looked it up cooffee, in it's "purest" form meaning plain nothing added no flavors etc. has NO calories. it's the junk you add to it, sugar and creamer that are full of calories.

In the U.S., all ingredients used in the manufacturer or preparation of a food item must, by law, be listed on the labeling of that product. They must also be listed in order of quantity ... the most of something to the least of something. For example in soda, water is always listed first because soda is mostly water, followed by the sweeteners, and flavors, then coloring.

With the coffee, if it's not on the can, it's not in the coffee! If you want to know what chemical processes are used to decaffeinate coffee, go to a web site that explains how different types of coffee is processed for sale.

Are you kidding? The ingredients are coffee. It's a bean. Calories are = 0 or minute. The only thing you need to worry about is the crap you put in it to cover the taste. Now the changes the storry.

I once got curious about this too... then being the caffeine addict that I am, delightfully found out, it "has virtually no calories or fats, no carbohydrates, no sodium, no cholesterol... if it were required to carry a nutritional product label, that label would consist mostly of a lot of zeros. (In fact, coffee is exempt from federal food label programs precisely because it has zero nutritive value.)"

Er, the last part of course was a bummer, "no nutritive value" - I guess you can't have everything!

But remember, its the stuff we add into the coffee that actually produce those numbers (calories, fats, carbohydrates, etc.) - like sugar, milk, flavored syrup...

I don't think coffee has calories. The calories come from the cream and sugar that is added.

There are no calories in coffee alone, and negligible nutrients so there really isn't much to put on the can.
