has anybody else heard of having a 1st degree tear when pushing baby out without having stiches will it heal propably

Yes. A first degree tear is just the skin, there may not even be bleeding and it probably doesn't need suturing at all. It just needs to be kept clean and should heal on its own.

Second degree tears go into the muscle layer and most probably will need stitches.

I tore with my 2nd baby and it was considered best by the doctor to leave it to heal itself without stitches but i must say it was sheer agony ! In saying that , having stitches down there is agony regardless !

I had stitches following an episiotomy with my first and a tear with no stitches with my third. I would take the tear and no stitches every time

yup alot of doctors don't worry about stitching that small of a tear up, they actually heal quicker without the stitches

yes.i had that when i had my baby.it heals after about a week.i didnt have the stitches but its so sore.especially when you wee.i found putting a baby wipe in my knickers soothed the pain a little.(sorry for being graphic)
