As an expecting Mother I think it's normal to worry. It just the beginning of all the things you will be concerned about for your child. Try to think positive, imagine all the joy you will have with your baby. This is a child that's made of love remember those things and do not let negativity get in your mind.

I agree with the nurse...unless you have a test result that suggests problems then just try to be calm. And even if there is a test result that could indicate problems...try to relax then too. Some of the tests that are run are just indicators. Personally my mother's doctor got a test back on me that was usually present in babies with chromosomal abnormalities. They did an amniocentesis and I was fine..and I still am. Sometimes the initial tests aren't really sure fire tests....they're just there to tell the doctors if they need to further check on your baby. Another thing to think about it your family like someone else suggested. I didn't worry too much when I was pregnant (about birth defects..worried about everything else in the world though lol) because I have a very large extended family...and none of us have any birth defects.

Many defects are picked up between 10weeks and 20 weeks now. They use a kind of assessments from ultrasounds to blood assessments to amniocentisis. for sure there are some defects that are ignored or unable to be picked up. there is an somewhat slender possibility with standard care and ultrasounds that this can be the case. My eldest daughter had a beginning disorder that replaced into picked up on a 20 week test, yet now this beginning disorder ought to nicely be picked up between 12 and 16 weeks with an ultrasound. (She is now a contented healthful 4 12 months old) I, for sure have a a lot more effective concern of a repeat beginning disorder, even with the undeniable fact that the way i'm getting myself by it truly is by realising there isn't any longer something i visit do to ward off one by doing each and each and every of the right issues. rigidity/nutrients/exercising are the in problem-free words issues I somewhat have administration over. Its generic to rigidity, yet once you've had ultrasounds and standard clinical care there is this manner of slender possibility there is something incorrect with your infant. purely right needs with something of your being pregnant and upcoming beginning.

Most of the birth defects, they can find in ultrasounds, so as long as you've been ultrasounded, I wouldn't worry. I'm sure everyone worrys about that, It'll be fine. Congrats on the baby!!

you can always have amniocentesis, but it is dangerous for you and the baby. Lots of people do it without a problem, however the risk is there. I would suggest asking your ob-gyn to run what's called a multiple marker test. it is similiar to amniocentesis, but can be done just by drawing blood if you do it in the right time frame of the pregnancy. I had it done with my third because I am 35-at the cusp of higher risk-and so had it done to reassure me everything was fine. health insurance covered it, too. ask your doctor and good luck.

Have you had all the tests done at the doc.? even if you have it can still happen but i wouldn't worry much all that stress isn't good for the baby. just relax and enjoy your life it will be all about the baby soon enough. good luck

Unless you have had tests that indicate such a thing, stop worrying about it. Don't stress yourself over the "what ifs?" You will have enough to worry about once your baby is born. Good luck.

Relax. I've had 5 healthy babies and worried with every one. Just make sure you're eating good and staying away from drugs and alcohol.

look into your family history. it will make you feel better to know that most birth defects are in the genes.
