Just because you cant work dosent mean you can have fun. Sitting having fun for a couple of hours is completely different from 8 hours work. I would go, enjoy yourself and have fun.

My wife has a fractured back which her ex husband done to her, and she was off work for a year she went to the Christmas night out with her office friends, she couldn't join in the dancing or get to have a good drink, but enjoyed the company the staff new about her injury and the treatments she was getting she couldn't stay out as long as she would have liked, so depending on what injuries you received from you're car accident then it is up to you whether you go or not.

It depends on why your off sick. If you have physical problems that make it impossible to do your job or psychological problems such as stress after the accident, I cant really see a problem attending the do. If your not a shirker then your genuine friends and workmates will be pleased to see you there. However you will always have people who will think you shouldnt leave the house until you return to work. Be strong with your decision and get better soon. Happy christmas.

If you are feeling up to it I see no reason why you shouldn't go...however, realize that (depending on the injuries) you may have limitations, i.e. can't sit or stand long, can't move your neck very well or have pain etc. A show and then leaving as soon as you feel unwell or tired, will be normal...if your co workers want to see you...by all means, if you can make it and feel up to it, why not.

As for the boss...depending on how he normally deals with you...it might be expected that he'd joke around about your coming to the party but not being able to work...joke right back. You have the proof you aren't 100% right now...for dramatic effect bring some photos of the car to show him if you think he'll get testy about it.

Good luck and try to enjoy as much as you are able to but don't overdo it...

Don't go-I know how you feel cos I was in a car accident this year to and missed some work nights out but don.t go cos your bosses will wonder why if you're not fit to go to work then how can you be fit for a party. Not really fair but that's the way bosses think.

It depends on why you are off. Personally I think you shouldn't go. However, could you be taken to where the 'Do' is to say hello to everyone and give your cards out? If I was your boss I would be thinking along the lines of "if they are well enough to come out, they are well enough to be back at work" so I don't think you should go to the whole thing...

Don't believe it would be a good idea!

If you did attend, YOU CAN BE SURE it would get filtered back to your boss at some point! Really wouldn't be worth the hastle afterwards.

......If it was me, it would be the opposite, the perfect excuse why NOT to go! haha.

Get your partner to go out and hire a nice DVD and have a nice evening in instead! :)

Better to be safe than sorry. Dont go. Someone is gonna say something that is gonna make it sound like your faking or could come back to work but wont. It may not be true, of course. But people do/say stupid things.
