Hello, and congratulations on your marriage!
You do not need a lawyer, if you can read and write in English, just go to the us Department of Immigration www.uscis.gov, read:How do I Become a Lawful Permanent Resident ?
Also, you might want to apply for an Employment Authorization Document to work in the US.
Good luck!!!!

For citizenship and immigration issues you really need to contact an immigration attorney to do your paperwork to become a permanent citizen. The document is called I -485 (commonly known as the "green card"). Or you can go to the USCIS web site at www.uscis.gov and read all the details of what you need to do. Spend about $1000 with a good immigration attorney and he will help you through this process.
