The battle that you quote will take place in Israel.

This is not happening now, but it will happen, and maybe not to far in the future.

If the U.S. were to be unable to defend Israel, I think it would happen immediately. I think we are the reason that it has not yet happened.

When God takes out His people from the earth, the U.S. will not have the will to interfere and these nations will invade Israel just as it says.

no....in The Revelation (last book in the Bible) Gog and Magog refers to the northern tribes in what is now Russia and the surrounding areas.
That battle is coming.
