D: Sounds right.
Why should they care about anyone else's religion and what it has to offer.

A forum on religion/spirituality isn't simply a mutual admiration society for believers, it's a place to discuss religious opinions. One religious opinion is that the true God is the very personal, omnipotent God of Abraham. One religious opinion is that there is no God. One religious opinion is that there is a God but he's definitely not Jehovah/Allah. As this is the place to discuss religious opinions, here the Atheists are.

I might argue that Christians utterly lack in any type of spirituality and they frequently tell me that they aren't a religion, but a relationship with Jesus. Perhaps I would suggest that they relocate their conversations to the dating section.

*shrug* But I won't, because this is a religion/spirituality section and an open one at that.

I think you're just bitter because you don't like people trying to convert you to a different religious opinion.

It gets irritating, doesn't it?

Keep that in mind.

All the best,

Laz

Just because you are an atheist doesn't mean you can't be spiritual. I suppose I am technically an atheist as I don't believe in any god(s) per se, but I do believe that there is something... I believe in the natural world, the things that I can see, hear and feel. Also, using forums like these gives us a chance to tell ignorant bigots like you that we will not be intimidated by you.

I may not have a religion, but I have spirituality. I also study world religions (working on my master's degree) and find it fascinating. I'm interested to know what others think. I would consider myself at least half Buddhist--which is an atheistic, but highly spiritual, religion.

ETA: If we weren't here, this place would apparently be nothing but atheist-bashing anyway. I have seen amazing witnesses for Christ--but not very many on these boards. I don't recall Jesus ever picking and choosing who to love, to help, or to show compassion to. I don't understand how it's OK here. My compassion extends to anyone of any religion, and even to those who would spit on me--and it has before. If following God means I have to change that, then I don't want to follow a God whose followers must separate people out to mock.

One cannot have a discussion on spirituality without all potential viewpoints being allowed to represent themselves. Otherwise this would be nothing but a big messy Christian group hug. Incidentally, as a result of your logic I feel that all religious people should be banned from any Answers! section relating to science.

To bring you poor deluded people the truth in the vague hope that you might realise you're wasting your life and finally become the better people we know you can be. Let go of your hate!

F. Just to annoy idiots like you =]
Or-
G. To possibly give someone another outlook that they've never considered, since you're all brainwashed little sheep.

Sorry about the last part, but as long as we're making stupid generalizations.

f) they like incite thoughtful questioning =)
cheers
ps. the fact that we don't believe in any god or gods does not mean that we don't like or engage in "spiritual" behavior, as long as you understand that the spirit resides within the mind and it's aware of its own humanity.
