Like your question, made me smile. I wouldn't but I know plenty who would (and are doing now!). I'll probably end up snogging the face off a minger when I get really drunk over Christmas.

No, that's even worse! Then you amplify their mingingness with a sympathetic date rather than a meaningful one, this in turn is further increased by the fact they will be left depressed for NYE as you would have dumped them by then! HOWEVER, you may gain from the experience by finding you get on like a house on fire and looks don't matter that much. Even if not with him/her then you may find that you will look past looks in the future.
