Rabies can lay dormant for up to 12 years. I found this out when my son was bit by a farm cat and i wasnt going to have him get rabies vaccine. AFter hearing that I did.
Get checked, and get the dog checked

Oh my. I also have a dog so I know how it must feel like to have to take care of him and all. . . Anyway, are you sure that the rabbit that bit him had rabies? If you are, then try going to the local health center and tell them about it. Don't worry just yet because luckily it's just a sore. . . and i think rabies can't really be transmitted through blood-blood contact. Try researching on it ^_~ I hope this helped :)

Go ahead and talk to your doc for safety. At your earliest convenience, for the love and health of your dog, get his shots up to date. If he should get lose, and what you've told us on this site is true, the city can inpound him and "put him down" as a protection to people and other animals who might come in contact with him. I don't think you want that.

yes, go to doctor and have some tests done....

....or die.

But then again.. if your dog has been fine for an entire year with a rabbit bite with rabies... idk... contact doctor, it's to big of a risk to ignore
