We dont have animals that would bring the fleas in. He is the only one out of the 5 of us who have these "bites". He had this same thing over the summer and we were told it was chicken pox. Now they are back. Last night he slept in our bed and he woke up this morning with 4 new ones. I cant not figure this out!! He is itching them and I put anti-itch cream on them but they keep appearing. My other two kids dont have any nor do my husband or I. Please, any help would be great!!! Thanks!!

Ok, first, fleas live in the yard. ALL YARDS! Simply because dogs cross yards and carry them there, and they grow and when the nearest "warm body" comes a calling, they are ready to "jump" on them and draw blood in order to survive.

Spiders, (small or large) are now coming in to your homes and everywhere else it is warm at this time of the years, (provided you live in a cold climate area), because they dont want to be left out in the cold, "and" there is always "something" in the house that is edible to them...

Now, fleas and spiders are coming in, but, since it happened in your bed, (I would venture that he got them before he got into your bed, and not there...but, to be sure, toss everything in a dryer for 30 minutes on high heat and that will kill most everything...)

Scrub rugs, toss the child's bedding in the washer and dryer, your bedding and everyone elses too! Vacumn the couches and chairs and rugs and beds also. Then, toss the vacumn cleaner "dust bag" in the garbage outside! (No sense letting them come back out of the bag and into your home again!)...

Also, dust your walls and ceilings if you have an attachment that will do this...

I wish you well..

Jesse

You do not have to have an animal to have fleas. If your neighbor has pets, if your kids' teacher has pets, a classmate has pets, if you have grass, then you can have fleas. Chicken pox does not look like flea bites. Not knowing where you live I can't help very much but chiggers are always a possibility too. If they are on the uppper torso area (chest) it could be allergies to something. All I can say is use topical creams and let it go as one of those things that effects us all. Four bites is not anything to worry about but walk around the house in white socks for awhile to test the flea theory. If they have infested the house then the white socks will attract them and then you should treat the home.

Your son could have been in an area where there were fleas.
I guess the only thing you can do is let a doctor look at it.

could be spider bites.or you possibly could have fleas infested in his bedding or your rugs left over from the summer.
I would shampoo the rugs and clean all beddings.
He could have been around animals in the summer and brought them in,or picked them up from summer grass.
The time of the year that spiders like to come into the warm house also is a possibility.

has he been over at a friends house who has pets??? when my son was little and we would go over to his grandparents house....they had a dog(we didn't own a dog then) and he would end up getting bitten by something. Little bites would show up on his body. I swear it was from fleas in the carpet at my in-laws house.

Bed bugs probably. Tiny and itchy, and they really do look like flea bites.

It could be mites. I experienced something similar and thought it was bed bugs at first. An exterminator came out and could find no trace of bed bugs. It continued for a couple of weeks and so the exterminator treated for mites. This solved the problem.

did he eat anything different? did he take a very warm bath last night? not sure what the bumps are but to take the itch away totally you should give him a half a teaspoon of benadryl. works great from the inside out and stops them from itching for longer than the cream. watch them closely and if more come out while he is playing today and sleeping tonight take him to the doctors. good luck and i hope you get them under control b4 the holidays. happy holidays=)
