Mitosis
1. Mitosis is the process by which a cell separates its duplicated genome into two identical halves. It is generally followed immediately by cytokinesis which divides the cytoplasm and cell membrane. This results in two identical daughter cells with a roughly equal distribution of organelles and other cellular components. Mitosis and cytokinesis together is defined as the mitotic phase of the cell cycle, the division of the mother cell into two daughter cells, each the genetic equivalent of the parent cell. 2.Mitosis occurs exclusively in eukaryotic cells.

Meiosis
1. meiosis is the process that allows one diploid cell to divide in a special way to generate haploid cells in eukaryotes. The word "meiosis" comes from the Greek meioun, meaning "to make smaller," since it results in a reduction in chromosome number.
Meiosis is essential for sexual reproduction.
2.It therefore occurs in most eukaryotes, including single-celled organisms. Meiosis does not occur in archaea or prokaryotes, which reproduce by asexual cell division processes.

hello! my name is Gelo.....
as far as I was educated, and as a biology student,
The 'two' similarities bet. mito and meio are (1) they undergo division, and (2) they have somewhat similar process....
and the diffs. bet. them are (1) they occur in different type of cells- like in mito, it only occurs in somatic or body cells, but in meio, it occurs only in gametes. and (2) the main goal of mito is to reproduce, until the organism stops living, but in meio, is for continuity of life, to pass on traits from generation to generation...
I hope that you are satisfied w/my ans...

Rather than report this, I have a counter-question: Why post spam?

edit- with reference to your hijacking of my other question, you posted this question 3 times - twice here in botany, and again in biology.

I was being kind by not reporting this. I won't bother next time.
