when someone passes they are either in Heaven or Hell. There spirit isn't on the earth at all.

It's probably some sort of a small animal or some kind of other sound she hears that attracts her.
I don't believe that people return after they die. If we can, however, and I do come back my time isn't going to be spent sitting in a small closet and frankly I don't know why anyone else would want to do so either.
After my father died I started noticing men who looked a lot like him--I'd get a glimpse of someone in a mall and for a split second it would look like my father. That happened very often, but never before my father died. You see, when we miss someone a great deal it makes us want to see them or to make some sort of contact with them or believe that they are still around somehow. In my case, as the years passed I noticed men who looked like my father a lot less frequently because I accepted my father's death and didn't go unconsciously looking for him.
I kinda think that you're really missing your parents and this is why you are interpreting your cat's behavior the way you do. If they were still alive it would probably never occur to you that there was any sort of spirit in that closet. You'd probably think of mice in the wall.

Believe it if you want to - you'll probably never know for sure! Or it could be one of the things the others have mentioned. I would at least make an effort to investigate whether it might be rodents or other animals, or a pregnancy.
But if you rule those out and if it makes you feel good to think it's a spirit presence, then by all means believe that. Why not?
Or - you say it's an SM closet. I assume you mean small. But if you meant S&M, then perhaps your kitty is expressing a desire to whip or be whipped. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

Do you keep food in the closet?
Maybe it is a ghost she can pick up, cats are very sensetive when it comes to sensing prescences and changes in the atmosphere.
Next time she does it, go and sit with her and wait for something to happen.
Look out for her hairs standing up, or for her pupils to go very big, these are some signs of the cat being scared or worried.
And good luck! Ghost-hunting is fun, expecially if you have a feline helper to keep you company!

My cat used to like to sleep in a small closet. What I did was to put a pillow in the closet so he could nap.
He also hated when any doors were closed and he would try to open them. If he couldn't, he would meow until I would.

Probably not. I'd guess that it's a mouse and she's meowing to you to notice.
BUT... My aunt's husband was killed in a car accident not too long ago, and for a few days after he died, her cat acted totally freaked out! Hiding, and growling and hissing. Scurrying through the house looking wild-eyed at the ceiling. Creepy!!

Wow tough question. It may be that she hears mice or other rodents or small animals in the area. Cats have better hearing then us in that sense so you wouldn't necessarily.
Although there is absolutely nothing wrong in believing its a sixth sense perception and that it could be. It would explain why we have chills for no reason, and people say someone is "walking over your grave".

She sounds like she could be looking for a place to have kittens. Most of my closets have been a nursery at one time or other.
If that is what is happening, put an old, clean, soft towel or blanket in there for her.
If she isn't pregnant, it's just one of those things cats love to do for no apparent reason other than to just do it.

Cat is horny.
Is this closet on the first floor? Is there room under the floor for another animal to crawll under the house, under the floor of the closet? If so, then there is probably a stray cat that is sleeping under your house in the evenings, the cat you have can smell them better when they are in that particular closet, maybe spaces between the floorboards. Even if they are covered in linoleum or carpet, cats can smell it, they have very strong senses of smell.
