I actually just threw my cigarettes out when I first decided to quit and never looked back. I only really ever missed it when I was out in bars drinking with friends but the benfits of being able to run for an hour on the treadmill without coughing relentlessly was all the inspiration I needed to persevere.

I was a 3-packer. The first step is to decide you're going to quit. If you haven't quit, it's likely that you haven't decided to. Count the people you know and love and have cared about who are no longer around becuase of tobacco. If you believe in God (I do), pray for help. Then, the trick is-- #1 don't buy cigarettes. PERIOD #2 take it one day at a time. #3 Many don't realize that the urge to drink or suck is the same one involved in smoking. So when you want to smoke, get yourself a half-glass of water. The drinking water bit is HEALTHY, and it will suppress the urge to "put something in your mouth." #4 Adult-to-adult, if you are an adult female in a healthy relationship, there IS something else you can put in your mouth! In fact, there are several things. Kissing comes to mind; "oral" comes to mind. #5 Set up a "fine" system with your signifant other. Every time you find yourself with a cigarette in your hand/mouth, and you "get caught", put a buck in the "fine jar". Your partner gets to spend the $$ on himself. Good luck!

i don't smoke cigarettes but i have other habits i would like to stop. i think the key is to go cold turkey. the same way a baby goes cold turkey when they are getting off the bottle or binky. u need to fill your time with another activity.
as u quit smoking u need to quit your regular routine. what i mean by that is that if u smoke on your break at work and u go with a group of other smokers.u might need to not go on your break with those people. if u smoke in the bathroom, bring a magazine in there instead. good luck!

Find something to occupy your mind. I still get cravings for that evil little stick every once in awhile. My boyfriend stops me from smoking, but for when he's not there I find playing with a tennis ball or pencil helps.

I got a girlfriend that hates the smell of smoke, so I had to quit otherwise she wouldn't let me kiss her! Cold turkey is the way to go.

It's so hard huh?
I have tried and tried to quit but it just wont work! But think about all that money your spending, and how it makes your fingers and teeth yellow. I try to think about it and went to about 3 or 4 cigarettes a day instead of a pack. (the patch doesnt work, so do nt even try) just try to think of your health, im trying my hardest to quit to.

Just do it. It's not that hard. Stop buying them and you can't smoke them. If you're too weak to do that, don't carry money with you. People who complain about how hard it is generally just want some sympathy, but it's just like overcoming any other bad habit: persistence.

frist..look at a chI'mney..,,then say to your self..im not that..then picture a a skeleton riding through a graveyard ..with a sign saying marborlo country..or say to your self i will live longer then ones who smoke,,and not inhale chemicals that are burned//whats more important in life does your partner smoke? if so you both be burning,,to be in a clean world within yourself..learn form ones,,live clean

Cold turkey was the way I went. It sucked for a few weeks but I did it & so can you if you really want to.
