OMG im sooo addicted aswell, i have to eat it everyday and im dieting aswell.. LOL
But if you eat DARK chocolate it is slightly better because it contains less calories and less milk and sugar!!
Or if you need a sweet fix of something, have a jaffa cake or a small cookie instead of lots of chocolate! or even better eat FRUIT!!!

From your question, it sounds like compulsive behavior (doing things that may not be good for you without the ability to stop).
My best suggestion is see a psychologist and sort out the reasons for this behavior. Often there's something else that drives you to act like you do.
Besides the point, moderate consumption of Chocolate may actually be good for you - as long as you go for the dark chocolate with high level of cocoa solids. My favorite is 85% but 70% is good too.
Last but not least - if you are going to the gym everyday you are probably in good shape so stop worrying about your weight. Just make sure you're working on different muscle groups each day.

Start munching on Cacao beans.
They are like natural chocolate (for lack of a better description) as they are actually what chocolate comes from... and in their raw or roasted form they're quite addictive, but much MUCH healthier! Not all that fat and sugar.
Just pure unadulterated pleasure!

This is seriously a matter of self control, like any life-style issue. I do sympathise as I have my moments on choc. Exercise and fill yourself up with lots of healthy fruit and veg .. and Good Luck.

Well if you can't go cold turkey, try take less and less amounts each day. Slowly reducing the amount of chocolate you eat. Because your doing it slowly your body won't notice and eventually you can stop eating it altogether.

wow, that's nuts. i don't even like chocolate, i eat it like once a month. i'm addicted to chips though, and they were getting me fat so i stopped buying them. when i don't buy them, i don't eat them. maybe you just need sugar and your addiction is just your body's way of telling you it needs it. if it's really bothering you, you should go see a nutritionist, it will really really help.

You can't be addicted to chocolate... but people tell themselves alot of rubbish, and then believe it.
Just stop. It's not a big deal.
