If u want to lose weight, u have to burn off more calories than u consume.

Consume about 1500-1700 cals(from healthy food. No junk) and work out on ur treadmill for an hour everyday. In addition, be as physically active as u can during the rest of the day.

Hi Hon. Here's a good website that will help you to figure out exactly how much of each food group you need to maintain your weight. If you want to lose some, then trim down a bit, but stick with it for the most part. It also takes into consideration how much exercise you get. And drink plenty of water ;)

As far as the treadmill, according to the instructor at my gym, a good cardio workout, which you can get with your treadmill, is when you can increase your heartrate for a set length of time. I would suggest start at 10 minutes and work up to a full thirty minute workout three or four times a week. Start out slow and work your way up. Remember, you're working your heart and lungs, not necessarily your legs. You should have no pain from your workout. Also, be sure to stretch out before you start and whenever you start to feel stiff or sore. (Not painful, but that day-after ache.)
Good luck to you, ya silly goose! LOL

u consume the same 200 calories but run on a tread mill for 40 minutes from the beginning. heart rate should be more than 120 beats per minut for a normal health adult. i don't know how old re u, u keep calling yourself an old bird, so maybe u might look on internet what is your maximum rate. but as i remember it should be 220 minus your age. that will give u your maximum rate, u should count 80% of your maximum heart rate - this will give u cardio exercise with the help of which u will lose weight. all the rest won't help u even if u re on a tread mill all day - if u want results heart rate should be not less than 80% of max heart rate. good luck

I hope you are good at maths! This is what you should aim for:
1 pound of body fat is about 3500kcal. You need to burn 3500kcal to shift a pound of body fat. You can do this in a week, by either eating less calories or doing some exercise. Let's say you need 2000kcal per day to maintain your weight, if you eat 500kcal less every day (1500kcal) then that is 7 X 500 = 3500. I find it very difficult to eat so little a day so I supplement with exercise. Eat 1800kcal a day (7 X 200 = 1400kcal) and burn off the rest with exercise. With some running I burn off 300kcal per day (300 X 7 = 2100, then 1400kcal from food + 2100kcal from exercise = 3500kcal per week). Get a calculator! Good luck!

Lets keep things simple here.

The most effective way to loose weight is to burn off more calories than you consume.

The most effective way to gain weight is to burn off less calories than you consume.

The most effective way to maintain a constant weight is to burn off as many calories as you consume.

Hope this helps.

2000 calories is recommended for a person that weighs around 180 lbs. and that is a maintenance weight with no extra exercise. i eat about 1200 - 1500 calories a day, but i only weigh 107 lbs. and i never exercise.

Its a little more complicated than that. It depends on where you get the calories from, if its pure natural food that you shouldn't have much trouble running a mile or 2 to keep fit. If you get the calories from processed junk type foods then it can be a little harder to shift.

I never calorie count, i only put in whats needed, The simplicity of it is, if your not hungry don't eat, if you are hungry then do!! Sometimes thirst is mistaken for hunger!!!!
