coffee or a book?!
No seriously...maybe there would be a chance of picking up a first edition of his favourite book, or a signed copy? Try ebay for these.
You can but some great coffee machines on the net too! More powerful than my computer!
Or socks, slippers, peanuts (!?)

Well if he likes reading you could buy him a series of books about the history of the world or the important landmarks and their origin or just about how the political parties were formed. These kind of books are always interesting and you enrich your knowledge as well as enjoying yourself.
Books are peoples best friends!!!!

dads are so perplexing to purchase for! you could desire to get him a subscription to a dad-ish magazine, my dad likes motercycles and he needs a subscription to a motercycle magazine. additionally, you could desire to get hime a tim hortons christmas kit with the mug, coffee can, etc etc. additionally present taking part in cards to places including harveys, tim hortons, burger king or his fav resteraunt are in many cases good. :)
