Recent poll says that 95% of American women admire people in the entertainment business (movies, music,..) & see them as second to God. 42% of European women admire business men & intellectuals. 82% of Brazilian women admire Doctors.

i think because America is the center of entertainment and the population is bombard by "news" I use the term loosely, about celebrity break ups, break downs, and other such gossip. While you need to keep in mind that Europe has been the epicenter of modern thought, education and study for thousands of years. Philosophy began with the Greeks and Italians, England had the industrial revolution and France had the first "Peoples Revolution". These countries are built on education and progressive thought, while America is a much younger developed country.
As for Brazil, it's my opinion, based on a limited knowledge, that it may be based on socio-economic status. Doctors equals education, education equal opportunity, opportunity can equal higher earning capacity.

Just hypothesising here, so bear with me...
American women - well, why do teenage girls go "gaga" over the boy bands? because they are going through extreme changes in their lives and although most would like to take their horomones for a drive, they fear the consequences and shy from it. Boy bands allow them to gush over a guy that has no chance of being in their lives, thus, they can have feelings that would never be hurt. You could say from this, that women, like men, have aspects of their adolscence they really never grow out of either.
European women - That makes sense. Consider the lives of people over there. They don't have a "Hollywood" of their own perse, although they do have the Cannes Film Festival. I'd imagine they'd be a little more centered with fewer celebs they can relate with and want more of a powerful wealthy man in a suit to take care of them/spoil them...
Brazilian women - Well, I can't say what kinda healthcare Brazil has, but I'd imagine it doesn't compare much with the States or Europe. I could see Doctor's like the business man of europe, but with the ability to take care of the family on a whole other level, making them ideal for the growth of a healthy family. I've heard Brazilian society is ALL about the family, so that may be why.
In the end, its still all about what suits themselves and what they want most in life. Those with everything they could ever need want the fantasy of more. Those with more centered lives want a powerful man with a solid financial base. Those with less want a solid base of finances, health and power.

I believe American women admire the luxurious life of the entertainment business not so much the people. As far as the others I don't know. I think personaly that all of that is crazy. You should admire the people in your life who are there for you, love you, and really understand you.

Its funny Brazilian doctors make more money than Brazilian actors. And European business men make more than European actors. But here in America, Amercian Actors make more than doctors and business men.

The only thing that surprises me about that is American women see them as SECOND to God. I figured it would be themselves, then the entertainment industry, then maybe God as a distant third. Provide the link for the poll?

i imagine human beings ought to experience free to have the opinion that they opt for. they must be able to exhibit there opinion, and those who pay interest (which must be a lot of human beings) must have an open ideas, and probably replace there opinion. some critiques gained't become some thing, even though it doesnt advise there valueless. no matter if no human being treasures your opinion, you should. Its what makes you who you're.

in america, it's all about how rich you are, how you look, how you dress, and what you have. it's a big issue because it's everywhere here. there is no getting away. they look at them as idols and society pushes us to be perfect like them.
