This refers to the Finnish custom of "Rethesbolmathef" - the time between 3 AM and 5 AM on Christmas Morning, when all the little kids are taken out of their beds and forced to go outside in the snow and cold and are chained to the Rethesbolmathef Pole in the town square and all the adults throw little pebbles at them and sing Finnish Folk Songs while drinking Schnapps,
