hi there i am a hairdresser and a lot of people have the speculation that the longer you leave a conditioner on your hair the better it is however if all you are using is a regular conditioner it doesn't do anything extra you can leave it on for 1 second or 1 hour and your hair will be the same as it is a surface conditioner it is developed to calm your cuticles to smooth your hair if you get a deep conditioning balm or conditioner or a mask then the longer you leave it the better as it is going deep into your hair follicles and conditioning your hair from the inside out rather than just sitting on the top of your hair like a normal conditioner hope this helps

You really shouldnt do that unless the conditioner says so.

Not alot would happen but it doesnt help and if done too often then it can cause your hair to fall out.

Also dont put conditioner to the roots. Thats new hair so its in great condition already, and extra conditioner wont help, infact Iv been told it can cause damage!

I often leave mine on for a hour or so - it doesnt do anything different really, just makes me feel like ive made more of an effort! A tip i got off a hairdresser, is if you put a conditioning treatment on, once youve washed it off, pop a bit of normal conditioner on then rinse as this seals in the good that the treatment has done.

generally it is said that one should not leave conditioner for more than 2-3 minutes as it softens your hair roots which makes it weaker which results in hair fall. There can be some special kind of conditioners which can be kept for long time.

Nothing at all.
Modern conditioners take less than 10mins to work so there is no need leaving it on longer may cause you hair to be more fussy as it makes it softer but it wil not do any harm.

the longer you leave conditioner in the better it works! sometimes I leave it on overnight then when i wash it of and dry my hair its soooo soft shiny and healthy. When u put conditoner on and wash it off straight away its not really doing anything cuz its doesnt have enough time to work. xxx and all that about it makeing your hair greasy is not true its only true if you dopnt rinse your hair properly!

Same as above, nothing much. But some conditioners have wax in them and it could get a little stiff.

It would be just like rinsing, lathering and repeating several times!!! you should be fine. One time i was so drunk i left conditioner in my hair all night!!! woke up and had to rinse it out!

You would have extra soft hair - i used to leave mine in overnight. and have even used it to style my hair when my moose ran out!!!

I know there are leave in conditioners u can use but its all the same crap - just a ploy to get us to part with our hard earned cash!!!
