when you say "sports bike" what are you referring to? the most common bikes are mountain, road, beach cruisers, and bmx.
check you local bike shops, sometimes they sell good used bikes on consignment
otherwise, invest in a new one, whatever bike you are looking for

Craigslist is your best bet if you don't want to deal with the hassles of shipping etc. as you can search for used bikes that are being sold by local people. This way you can check out the bike before hand and see if you like it.
