The concept of hereafter is one of the very basic concepts of Islam. Without this concept, there appears no justice and order in this world. Islam sees this world as a place for action. Whatever you do, you will be judged at the end of the days based on your actions in this world. Therefore, the concept of hell and heaven is very important for Muslims. In one chapter of the Quran, Surah Airaaf, the picture of heaven, hell and the in between is painted very clearly as well as the deeds that may lead to either of these.
