obviously eating healthier is the best way, also eating 6 small meals a day to burn calories constantly. (But it has to be healthy foods, not potato chips) if you only want to lose 6 pounds or so, it shouldn't take you too long if you cut back a little on calories, fat, and maybe add just a little bit of extra exercise to your day. (add 20 minutes of hard cardio in the evening) you should be good!

Heck yea.
Pop on over to my site http://www.followmyfitness.com
I myself am currently running a 3 month project to do the same thing (have a forum there and all).

If there is any advice I can give you... the one best thing I have learned so far. Is *get assistance*. A personal trainer and nutritionist have done the world for me so far.

I have also found that if you are going to go to the gym a personal trainer will assist to ensure that you do not injure yourself (which I have almost done previously when I was just going it on my own at the gym).
Cheers

hi,i found that i can lose weight by cutting back on carbs.
have breakfast and lunch protein based ,or with only natural carbs ,ie :fruit, veg ,sald veg etc.
and then have what you want for your evening meal.cut alcohol out too,or at least switch to vodka which has no carbs or calories.
giving up caffeine -tea,coffee ,chocolate, cola etc also really helps once you get over the caffeine withdrawel,as it stops your sugar levels flunctuating, which helps stop sugar and carb cravings .
also i find that it helps if i find an exercise i enjoy ,dont force yourself to the gym if you hate it.i enjoy fun based activities-rollerskating,walking my dog ,playing rounders with the kids, swimming with the kids-great fun racing with them!i also enjoy my tae-bo dvds -g8 stress buster.
anyway good luck :)
