im begining to plan my wedding. i was watching the movie The Perfect Man where the mother was a baker. she made a pretty brown cake. brown purple and gold will be my wedding colors. any comments on having a brown (frosted) cake? has anyone ever seen a weding cake frosted of another color, not just accented with the bridal colors?

i was a wedding recently and the cake was lilac and yellow and i thot it looked very nice.
it was also the colours of the bride.
you can actually do a cake in any colour you want but do go to a professional baker who will tell you the colours that actually look good standing out all day.
my friends wedding cake was blue but when it was brought out and had been out for a while it changed to a funny purple which did not phoptograph well so you need to find out the colors that will.
pastel colours are very nice.
i think white in a cake is traditional,stands fro purity and is probably cheaper than a coloured one 2!

I have seen plenty of non white wedding cakes! Thousands! All over the Internet!
Some people say to avoid dark colored frostings (like chocolate) because it does not photograph well. So people concerned with the pictures stick with pastels.
But there is nothing wrong with serving chocolate or whatever colors or flavors you want to serve.

There are a TON of cakes that aren't white...my last bride had a light brown cake with white accents and flowers. I have seen everything from pink to blue to green to purple...the possibilities are limited by your imagination.

My daughter had two beautiful blue/green/gold bold kissing fish (one with a veil and one with a top hat) she designed herself. They were unique and looked great. Follow what you want and make the day your own. Why follow tradition just for the sake of it?

who says they need to be white! i went to a wedding where they had two cakes...one in chocolate (brown of course) and one white one. I had a chocolate cake as well bit with some white on it!! I guess white represents innocence, virginity and cleanliness...
