I was in a car accident on october the 7. I had no insurance at the time. I was hurt i fractured my hand, couldnt drive nor work. This past monday i finally got my cast off. Two vehicals were involved including mine. On the police report one of the drivers said i past the stop sighn and i only got a ticket for no insurance. I disagree, i didnt pass the stop sign. There was a park working van blocking my view and im pretty sure also the other drivers. i was at that stop sighn for almost 2 minutes. From what i saw i was clear both ways. Why would i pass the stop sighn thats suicide. I know why didnt i have insurance, i was going through rough times. So now im getting letters from their insurance saying i owe them 16,000 dollars. Im 23, single mother, self employed no bank account. So i need advice anything will help. THANK YOU

if you had no insurance, it is your fault... thats all it comes to down to with that kind of stuff... you can try to appeal it, but the court systems dont' sympathise much with no insurance

Contact a injury lawyer. If the other insurance company wants to play hardball maybe if they had something to lose on their side they would go away. Many back injuries take a few days to surface. You might be more injured than you think. Make sure the lawyer takes the case on a contingency basis which means if you don't get money the lawyer doesn't get money. Make sure it is in writing.
If that doesn't work:
I would contact a self-help lawyer that donates their time for free.
I personally would not talk to the insurance company. I would not respond to their letters. If you have no bank account or property what can they do?
It sounds like the other person was speeding. It a city or county vehicle was involved in anyway there may be a conflict of interest for the officer.

The police report is the officer's opinion. It usually is a well trained opinion though and is based on witness statements. It doesn't matter if you agree with it. If you are looking for the other insurance company to pay for your medical bills, I don't think you stand a chance. Had you paid the money for insurance as the law requires you certainly wouldn't be in the position your are in. Live and learn, and get the insurance.

well you have two civil cases possibly criminal. You can call your state para-legal bar association found in the blue pages. They usually offer para-legal advise. If necessary they can take your case at a low cost. You need to speak to someone on legal and contract law. You violated the contract by not having insurance period. You can contest the ticket and appear in court and explain you situation. have pictures, charts, and such things to support your case. Possibly get the camera recording from the police officer ??? If possible. Make an appointment with a Judge. And most of all get insurance. It will help you in court.

You are at fault, and the cops and the insurance companies will agree on this one. Just because car B stopped for you, that doesn't mean the truck was also obligated to stop. It also is your word against the driver of the truck about his speed. Speed is hard (if not impossible) to prove. It's not impossible to prove however, that you were in HIS lane of traffic, where he had the right of way. You say you weren't moving, but you were still in his lane.

it is illegal in most states to drive without insurance. Here-without the accidence the fine when stopped could be as much as $3,000. You were at fault by driving in the first place.

if you drive with no insurance, you are ALWAYS at fault. no matter what the incident was. b/c really, if you have no insurance, you shouldn't even be out on the road driving anyways. if you try to fight it, then you will loose. try calling 1-800-SAFEAUTO
they have insurance for cheap, so this doesn't happen again

You had no insurance? You're a criminal. The stop sign doesn't matter.
