Adam sinned and lost the perfect life that was supposedly what we would have. And because of sin, humans get sick, age and die..we are all slaves of sin and God as a loving Father gave a ransom for us.

The blood represents life, as a ransom, meaning something used to pay for something that's lost, Jesus' blood as a perfect man was paid for the perfect life that the first perfect man Adam lost...(Jesus is called the last Adam is he is the last perfect man)

we now have the chance to live again forever. Jesus freed us from sin's slavery so now, he is our master and as his slaves, he will lovingly heal the sick, feed the hungry, let the blind see, the lame walk, even bring the dead back to life.

Yes Jesus was the perfect man and God at the same time. In the Old Testament the blood of animals was required to cover the sins of the people but that's all it did - put a cover over them to hide them from God (He knew they were there). Jesus made a one time sacrifice that lasts forever and his blood doesn't cover sin but washes it away - as long as you have accepted him as you Saviour. All you have to do is ask - it's that simple.
His blood was worthy because He had never sinned.

A thought - Sin came into the world through one man - Adam - and so it was through the blood of one man -Jesus- that we are redeemed (bought back)

There was needed something perfect to take away the sins of the world and only Jesus has that blood. The original sin was a mixing of blood and by blood only could the sins be atoned. Abel caught that revelation and offered a more pleasant sacrifice unto God but the blood of animals could only cover the sins of men and not take them away. However God provided a more perfect sacrifice in Jesus and His blood took away the sins of men.

It is important to ask the question...redeem man from WHAT?
Ever since Adam and Eve, man has died...eventually.
But death was not in god's original plan for the first two. Death only occurred AFTER they disobeyed [ sinned] [Genesis 2;16,17]
So a perfect man [ Adam] lost for all opf us the opportunity to live without death...forever.
Jesus, also perfect, was Given to us by his Father in heaven [ Almighty God, Jehovah]
to buy back for us this 'right' to live forever. It has been paid and the results will become evident after Armageddon. Now very close.

Because Satan challenged Gods right to rule his creation. Is the main reason we suffer today. God is allowing Satan and persons to rule themselves in order to prove only God and be successful ruling over creation. Gods law demands equality. So when Adam and Eve (mainly Adam) chose to believe that their way is better than Gods, they were disobedient. Sin is disobedient and God does not tolerate that. God also decreed it and will/cannot take that decree back. But because of poor choice and Satan's influence God had to equate the price of that sin. So you have heard an eye for an eye and so on.....
this ransom is to pay one perfect man for another. So which is why Jesus would state only by him we can have access to God, By accepting the ransom, which is also accepting Gods regulations in the bible, we are acceptable and are thus redeemed. This means that we can live forever on earth. Even though we may die, we have the hope of the resurrection. Thus because God values blood as sacred, Gods law is uphold-ed, which again means that God is perfect and his name YHWH is uphold-ed and honored.

that would be cannibalism! I'm sorry for anything that I may have done wrong but I would never take someone's life or blood to try and get myself out of facing the consequences.

Yes I know that it's a metaphysical question but its such a daft idea.

You are responsible for what you do - no one else.

16th December.

You know what? It really irritates me when people assume things about me when they don't even know me. No I am not Christian. I rejected christianity when I realised that there was something bigger out there than the narrow views preferred by some forms of the christian faith.

I have my own faith that is slowly being formed during my study of all the views of all the religions. I used to be christian. I was christened and I studied and was confirmed but the knowledge I gained never answered my questions. I have taken the things that I felt were good - Respect and love for everyone around me and the feeling that there is something that connects all of us no matter what our faith - these are the things that I live by. I am sorry if I offended anyone, I was expressing a point of view - which is what I thought the Internet was all about.

It is not the literal, material blood that does the work, but His obedience in Christ, the final triumph over all evil, that opens the door to mankind forever for salvation. Without this sacrifice divine love made for us, who would believe and understand?

Because that idiot Edmund betrayed his brothers and sisters and now has to die and it was the only way to convince the White Witch not to punish him is to offer himself as a sacrifice. Little did the White Witch know that in laws more ancient it was said that when innocent blood is spilled on the stone table, it would break and the sacrificed will live again.

Oops wait, wrong universe! :-)

Edit:

Okay okay seriously! It is meant to be an example. In the same way as Jesus Christ has unconditional love for you, so must you also learn to love him and your fellow men unconditionally. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whomsoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life"

The message is, it is only by giving up your life to Christ, that you will save it.

Its Kierkegaard's Fear and Trembling again. "By the very act of giving it up, it is given back to you."

Oh and incidentally, while C.S. Lewis tried to explain the sacrifice in Narnia, I'd have to agree with Tolkien that it was rather wanting.

jesus was a perfect man and since life is represented by blood it would take a perfect man for this type of sacrifice to pay for mankinds sins

the wages of sin is death

Wouldn't you have been better asking the question with "why is something used to represent the blood of Jesus.......etc", instead of "why is the blood....."......as Jesus has been in spiritual life for hundreds of year, how can anyone possibly receive his blood!
Blessings
