I'm at work, feel like death warmed up and could sleep for an age. Any clues on how to get thru the next 7 and half hours?

fizzy vitamin c tablets does the trick for me - or ice lollies. Drink as much water as you can stomach and nibble on crackers or plain biscuits to keep your energy up. Stay off the coffee - it'll only dehydrate you further and make your headache worse AND the caffeine will make you feel shaky.

Keep your head down and if you can leave early - doctors / dentist appointment is always a good excuse. You'll probably feel better by lunchtime anyway xx

Oh honey I really feel your pain. That was me on Wednesday after our office party. Was in the toilets most of the day!

Take it half a day at a time. Right now focus on making it to lunchtime.

Don't do any work this AM if you can help it. Thinking hurts.

I find that a glass of milk settles my tummy a bit, sipped slowly. Have some plain toast if you can get your hands on any.

If you feel really sick, go to the toilets just to sit down and put your head in your hands for a few minutes. Try not to fall off though. Or sneak outside for some air and a little walk.

At lunch time, stay outside for a while and then consider whether you can eat. If not, find a smoke-free place and sip a glass of coke with ice. Sip slowly, don't have too much.

I find thick fruit smoothies to be miraculous at times like this.

If you're alright to get some food, here's some ideas-

Good old fashioned fry up or Chinese noodles, if you feel like grease.

Otherwise, my personal all-time favourite hangover cure is the Avocado Salad wrap from Pret a Manger. There's something about avocado that really sorts me out.

Hopefully when you get back to the office after lunch you'll feel much better.

Good luck!

I used to go to work with a hang over, but I worked in a restaurant so had what I needed on hand. Anything with tomato helped me. I would have a bacon and tomato sandwich and a large glass or 2 otf tomato juice.Tomato juice replaces potassium and all that other good stuff that your body loses from dehydration. Other than that, plain old perserverence and a lot of complaining about how bad I feel.

Drink loads of water, then sort out a cooked breakfast - best fried.
Or even a burger or a sandwich or something thats food. If you're not working on the phones, then try ome ear plugs, it makes all the noises much quieter and helps the headache.

Or you can just throw a sickie and go home -In fact why didn't you throw a sickie and stay home in the first place?

Eat Protein. Avoid Carbs, they'll just put you to sleep. Not too much coffee, it might make you shaky. Lots of water. Take a long lunch with a cat nap in your car! and if all else fails, try to sleep under your desk or in the bathroom!! LOL Good Luck! Hope you feel better.

This sounds sketchy, but having a bowel movement usually speeds the process along for me. Followed by groups of water, a multi vitamin, groups of water, and another bowel movement. If you can handle V-8 juice, drink some of the Hot and Spice Picante version and you will be right as rain.

the human body sees alcohol as a poison (which it is), and tries to dilute the poison as much as possible. since most of the water is in the brain, that's where the water comes from. when you're sleeping, the body does this diluting. so when you wake up, you get that horrible headache. just replenish it, buy drinking lots and lots of water. it's stupid how people say "drink coffee" for the hangover, coffee is a diuretic just like alcohol!!!! im not saying it's poison, im saying it makes you dehydrated.

Much as I hate them, I used to find that McD's egg muffin (or two) and a large coffee used to sort me out, when I had time for hangovers! Hope you feel better soon.

Get something to eat, preferably something bready. Drink some juice and take some Tylenol. Once you feel your high start to come down drink water to rehydrate yourself and some coffee might help too.
