Yes it is a big deal. It won't be a big deal later on in life when you are older, but as of right now, it is illegal if you were to look at it from a sexual standpoint. Second she may look and act mature in front of you but there's a good chance it could be that way so that you will think of her like that. I think you'll be able to find someone closer to your age and you'll be happier and you won't have to worry about age being a factor. If you feel that you can overcome the age difference and she is mature enough for you and you like her and she likes you then I say go for it, but make sure you know how you feel and what you believe.

Well I don't expect you to understand this, but looks are not a way to rate a girlfriend. At her age she needs to be with her own crowd---and you need to be with yours....what would you talk about? And if sex comes up it would be rape for you---do you enjoy jail? I think your friends would be laughing behind your back if you did this---you are only young once---get a grip and enjoy your youth. Find a nice girl your own age, someone with similiar interests and a girl who appreciates you for the man you are at this time. You better start thinking about graduation, college, a job, and everything else that a senior in high school should be concerned with. Stay away from the kids. Merry xmas

at your age four years can be like twenty. She may be mature but she isn't in the same mind frame as you. you will move on to college and have sex on the brain she will move on to high school and have friends and school on the brain. if you like her that much get to know her don't date her and let her grow up a few more years then ask her out later down the road.

Its a big deal if you are older that 18 and she is younger (I am pretty sure that is illegal), but once you hit about 25, 4 years is nothing

You are a little too young to get serious with any girl at this age. And she's still underaged (sex) so, be careful that you don't get caught if you indulge in it or you could even be arrested.

as you get older, the age gap means nothing...i am 25, and dating a 21 year old!

that is 4 years and it is perfectly fine!

Leave her alone...ok...Even when she is seventeen she won't know what is best for her...Don't make her even more confused then she probably is right now...And as a 12th grader in highschool what are you doing around 8th graders? Seems a little weird.
