Thanks a lot for the responses in the my other thread "First time air traveler..." It was really helpful.

But I have another question I forgot to ask :-(

How do you guys travel to the airport?

I'm from New York City, and if I were to catch a flight at 7am, assuming I arrive like 2 hours early or so, the subway isn't too safe or easy way to get there in the middle of the morning, so would my best bet be a cab ride?

Anyone know what the fare would approximately be to travel from Downtown Manhattao to Newark Airport? or JFK?

Get a friend to drive you to the airport. If you have a friend who has flown before, they will know 2 things.

What your goin through (1st time flyer) and they know how important it is to get to the airport on time.

I had a friend who took me to the airport who had not flown himself, he was just crusing 5 kms under speed. I asked him to get to speed as we were running a little late but he ignored me. I missed the flight and had to pay an extra $300!!!!!

I would take a cab or an airport shuttle. Usually the shuttle services are cheaper
