great questiion. i don't know if i can help. but may be getting out and talking to people in the real world may help.
or what about using online chat to talk to people and make friends?
see www.paltalk.com, www.skype.com amongst a wide range of other comunity groups online. however be warned half of the groups are populated by people talking about adult topics (if you know what i mean) but if you are willing to just reach out then you should be able to make friends.

I'm currently working on a website chat forum that uses monitored chatrooms for a small fee to each user this is only because i plan to host the site from my own computer. Which should provide a wide range of chat rooms for most age ranges from 8 to 180.
still as i said working on this mainly because i'm sick and tired of seeing adverts everywhere i look (on tv, online, in the local and national press and even billboards). It drives me insane. I can't be the only one who hates advertising.
yes a site that supports adverts can offer it's members services at below what it actually costs to host then. however as i plan on no advertising a charge (which may be left up to the website users to donate what ever they can afford for example). but as for desperate loniliness i'm alone 24/7 with only theTV, internet and online chat with friends made online available to pass the time. which gets desperatley lonely. however the longer you are on your own i find the easier it gets to cope with out physical interaction.

good luck in finding an answer or cure to your loneliness.

Not, as it turns out, by being with people.

Loneliness is internal to the person feeling it, and so must be treated as a mental health problem.

this one is a hard one, if u feel loney is not because u cant get friends but its because u sometimes push ur friends. just learn some social skills i know its hard to just say it but take baby step, read books about shyness, get out more, be proud of the little things u do. small steps will make a big diffrence if u ever need more advise or a person to talk to email me, and i will try to give u the best advise i can.
