She is on 7 units of insulin twice a day. I don't think there is a Vet here (KC) That has a clue. I just did the research & helped her with Omega fish oil for her arthritis The Vet was sceptical. But it is working. Also it is helping some people I know. Thank You for all the other answers I just forgot to mention the most important part,

Check out the groups section of yahoo, there are actually THREE yahoogroups lists for diabetic dog owners: Diabeticdogs Diabetic_dog and Caninediabetes. The first is the largest. I dont know which is best, but can testify that such support list can be a GODSEND. There is a much higher chance that someone on those list has the experience to answer your question.
