My boyfriend and I have been together for nine months, and we have been friends for several years.

During the entire time I have known him, I have heard him mention several times that he hates feet, that they are disgusting, and that he is aversive to touching anyone's feet and the like, which never really seemed odd to me, because I know a lot of people are grossed out by feet for whatever reason.

However, I get the feeling that maybe he just claims he hates feet to cover the fact that he actually has a foot fetish. For example, we have been in restaurants before in the summer where I have been wearing sandals, and he has subtlely reached down and started massaging my foot under the table (with other guests at the table, mind you). Also, during sex, if I am on top, he will reached around my legs and grab my feet and start rubbing them.

Anyway, it won't bother me at all if he has a foot fetish, I am just not really sure what the deal is, so I'd appreciate any reponses! Thanks!

My partner hates feet and won't even let me brush against them in bed when I'm wearing bedsocks so I think this behaviour is unusual.

Of course, there's not a lot of bits of the body he can reach in a restaurant without being noticed but grabbing and then rubbing your feet during sex does seem odd for someone who hates feet.

Foot fetishists like a variety of things but the key thing about a fetish is that it has to be present for sexual arousal. You can read more about foot fetishism on the wikipedia link listed as my source which says:

Websites exist that cater to a number of specialized scenarios, including: feet resting on car dashboards, feet pushing down on gas or brake pedals (pedal pumping, with numerous variations), feet crushing objects like balloons or toy cars, women walking barefoot on uncomfortable surfaces such as hot pavement, sharp gravel, rocks, snow, etc., feet being pushed into mud or food, feet dipped in honey, feet that smell after having been encased in particular shoes, socks, and/or hosiery, foot torture (i.e. having the soles of their feet tortured or punished by whippings, hot wax, or burnt with cigarettes), and feet being bound and tickled.

If your boyfriend is only attracted to your feet and doesn't display signs of being interested in other people's feet at all then I don't think he's a foot fetishist.

I wouldn't say it was a full on foot fetish, maybe he just thinks you have "nice" feet.

I wouldn't call that a fettish. However, it could be that he just doesn't like OTHER people's feet!
