I am reluctant to purchase the White Strips as I've read that they cause tooth sensitivity.

I saw Listerine now has a whitening mouth wash.

Does it work?

whitening mouthwash doesnt work, cos in order for your teeth to be bleached effectively,it needs to be cleaned, properly before a whitening solution or paste is used, and has to stay in your teeth at a certain time.better go and have your whitening done by a professional to be on the safe side.i had mine done a month ago,and i just had sensitivity for a week, and im okay.

Yes, it does work to a degree, it is not a complete noticeable whiteness as shown in the commercials but you do see a differenc. However, many people, myself included have had the problem with their teeth becoming more sensitive and my dentist asked me what I was using and he told me not to use it because my teeth were becoming overly sensitive. Oh, I was using the whitening mouth wash by the way. The strips i have heard the same, I have stopped trying to use the whitening "miracle" strips and washes, I'm sticking to brushing my teeth and using mouth wash. Hope this helps

I imagine that the whitening in the mouthwash is the same bleaching agent as in the White Strips. Those are all made to BLEACH the teeth. The main problem with that is that it deteriorates the enamel of the teeth and eventually removes it from your teeth. The enamel is what actually protects our teeth. This is NOT a good thing to be removed!! Have a great holiday season!

The over the counter whitening products are effective but are not nearly as effective as the professional products due to a lower concentration of active ingredient. Any whitening product can cause sensitivity and what I typically recommend to my patients is to discontinue use for several days if sensitivity occurs and try a desensitizing toothpaste such as Sensodyne while using whitening products.
