In practice, no.
In theory, a bubbly lemonade should release the alcohol into your system quicker. Something about the reactive properties of carbon.
But after 30yrs. drinking I have never seen the theory work. But can confirm that it does work with champagne, or carbonated wine. Get the buzz quicker and recover quicker because you are not drinking as much.

In practice, mixing the grain and the grape gets you absolutely slaughtered.
In theory, I have not been able to figure out why

Err... ummm... well... no is the answer...

For me it's the opposite... if your out for a long session, I find a few lagers every now and then with a dash help you stay the course... maybe the sugar keeps you going...

If it's a long long session... a shandy (50/50 Lemonade/ Lager) every now and then (When no one is looking to keep your cred) really helps...

But if your question is cos you want to get drunk quicker... just go for whiskey chasers!... hickup!!!!

if you drink a lager top it means you're a bit of a wuss and not brave enough to order a shandy. the fact that you get drunk quicker isn't to do with the lemonade, it's more to do with the fact that you can't hold your alcohol. the only people i've ever heard say it are pink shirt wearing boys with triangular hair, so i must be right.

Its not the lemonade its the bubbles.

Apparently fizzy drinks builds up pressure in the stomach which means that the stomach, thinking it's fuller than it is, allows the contents (in this case alcohol) into the intestine where it is very quickly absorbed into the bloodstream. And because the stomach is being fooled into releasing it's contents into the intestines early you get drunk quicker than you would on a non-fizzy drink.

True... the gas from the lemonade gets the alcohol into the bloodstream quicker via i think the stomach wall?

Not that i know of.
As far as i know that's called a shandy. it helps you drink more larger if you don't like the taste. the lemonade makes it sweeter and easier to drink if you don't like the larger taste.
