mole (radish ) 3 paces
a handful of black gram
onion 2 paces
red chilli 4 pcs
oil
1 spoon of rice

Soak the black gram overnight in water. Then cook in pressure cooker until soft.Peel skin from Mooli and onion.
Grate the Moolis and onions. Add a tsp of oil in a sauce pan. Add 1 pc of red chilli and add the grated onion and mooli .
Add salt and a pinch of sugar.Mooli will have its own juice. Keep stirring for a while . Add the cooked black gram also.
Cook it well until the juice disappears and the mixture turns dry. In a pan add 1 tbsp rice (normal rice) and roast it until golden red. Add 2 red chilli to it and roast.
Now finely powder this in a mixi. Once powdered add this to the Mooli sabji.Your Tasty Mooli sabji is ready to be served.
This goes well with chapathi and rice too. Try it out u guys and keep us posted about your comments.

Chicken A La King Ingredients * Chopped chicken (1 cup) * Fat-free cream chicken soup (1 can) * Diced and drained pimiento (1 jar) * Skimmed milk (3/4 cup) * Sliced and drained mushrooms (1 can) * 1/8 teaspoon of ground pepper * 1/2 teaspoon of salt (as per the taste) * Chow mein noodles Procedure Place a large skillet over medium heat and add chicken chops and chicken soup to the skillet. Add skimmed milk, mushrooms, pimiento, ground pepper and salt to it. Cook thoroughly for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring the mixture often. When cooked fully, take the skillet off the heat. Take the chow mein noodles in a serving plate and put the cooked chicken over it. You can also think about garnishing it with some herbs like parsley or coriander leaves. There are many chicken recipes that are really easy and less time consuming. You can think of trying them to mexican chicken * 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts * 2 tsp. taco seasoning mix * 1/2 cup chunky salsa * 1 cup shredded Pepper Jack cheese * 2 Tbsp. sour cream Preparation: Sprinkle chicken with the taco seasoning mix, making sure to coat both sides of each piece. Place chicken in a square microwave safe dish and pour salsa over. Cover and microwave on HIGH for 5-8 minutes, turning dish once halfway through cooking time. Make sure chicken is thoroughly cooked. Juices should run clear when pricked with a fork. Sprinkle chicken with cheese and return to microwave. Cook for 45 seconds until cheese is melted. Top with sour cream to serve. 2 servings

Szchewan Broccolini (serving size 2)

INGREDIENTS
2 bunches Mann's Broccolini®
2 teaspoons chili paste, sweet, hot
1/2 cup hoisin sauce
1/4 cup teriyaki glaze
2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons sugar
DIRECTIONS
Combine all ingredients and blend well. Two (2) saute pans are required: one with 1/4 cup vegetable or peanut oil and one dry.
Heat pan with oil to approximately 350 degrees. Place other pan on flame until hot. Blanch 6-7 pieces of Mann's Broccolini in hot oil for 12-15 seconds. Remove and put into hot pan with 2 oz. Szechwan sauce. Cook until sauce caramelizes onto Broccolini (30-60 seconds). If sauce doesn't caramelize within this time, pan needs to be hotter. Garnish with sesame seeds or radish sprouts.

Southwestern Chicken Soup (serving 6)
INGREDIENTS
1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed beef broth
1 (12 ounce) can tomato paste
1 (15.5 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 (11 ounce) can Mexicorn, drained
1 1/2 cups diced cooked chicken
3 green onions, sliced
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies
1 2/3 cups water
DIRECTIONS
In a large saucepan, combine beef broth and tomato paste. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

Mixed Vegetable Casserole (serving 6)

INGREDIENTS
2 (15 ounce) cans mixed vegetables, drained
1 small onion, diced
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup shredded white Cheddar cheese
36 buttery round crackers, crushed
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a medium bowl combine the mixed vegetables, onion, soup, mayonnaise and cheese. Mix well and spread mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with the cracker crumbs.
Bake about 30 minutes, or until browned and bubbly.

Using Aluminum foil put the ingredients on top as listed, then bake.
Packet Potatoes / Vegetables

1 Small Onion
4 Medium potatoes
2 Tbs olive oil or vegetable oil
1 tsp seasoned salt
½ tsp dried dill weed
¼ tsp pepper

Center onion
Top with diced potatoes
Sprinkle with oil and seasonings
Bake at 450 for 30 to 35 minutes or grill for 15 to 20 minutes

Vegetable packet

1 Small onion
3 Cups broccoli florets
2 Medium Carrots/thinly sliced
1 Medium yellow squash or zucchini
1 tsp dried basil leaves
1 tsp garlic salt
2 ice cubes
2 TBS margarine/butter

Center veggies
Sprinkle with seasonings
Top with ice cubes
Dot with margarine
Bake at 450 for 20 to 25 minutes or grill 15 to 20 minutesGarden Vegetable

½ medium red bell pepper cut into 1 inch pcs.
1 tsp dried basil leaves
½ tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper

Center vegetables
Sprinkle seasonings

Bake at 450 for 20 to 25 minutes or grill 15 to 18 minutes

Parmesan Baked Fish

4 (4-6oz) Orange Roughy, Flounder or Sole Fillets
¼ Cup Mayonnaise
¼ Cup grated Parmesan Cheese
Cayenne pepper
2 Medium zucchini sliced
½ Medium red bell pepper cut in strips

1 fish per packet
Spread with mayonnaise
Sprinkle with cheese and cayenne pepper
Top with vegetables
Bake at 450 for 18 to 22 minutes or grill for 10 to 12 minutes

PUMPKIN PIE

-1 (16 oz.) can solid pack pumpkin
-1 (13 oz.) can evaporated skim milk
-1 egg
-2 egg whites
-1/3 c. biscuit mix (Bisquick type)
-2 tbsp. sugar
-8 packets sugar sub. (sweet & low)
-2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
-2 tsp. vanilla

Method:-
1) Heat oven to 350 degrees.
2) Lightly spray 9 inch pie pan with vegetable spray.
3) Place all ingredients in blender or mix with electric mixer.
4) Pour into pie tin or pan.
5) Bake in oven (350 degrees) for 45 minutes or until knife placed in middle of pie returns clean.
Can cut pie into 8 pieces.

There is one Indian recipe blog dedicated to Vegetarians. You can find lots of dishes there. It is very friendly and it has pictures of all the recipes with simple & easy steps. I tried recipes from there. It works great for a new chef like me :)

Prep time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

2 slices whole wheat bread
1/4 banana, sliced
2 tbsp. peanut butter
2 tbsp. cereal (natural wheat and barley cereal flakes)

Utensils:

knife (You'll need help from your adult assistant.)
measuring spoons
Directions:

Spread peanut butter one side of each slice of bread.
Spread banana pieces on the peanut butter on one slice of bread.
On the other slice of bread, sprinkle cereal so that it sticks to the peanut butter and covers the bread.
Place the slices together and serve.

curd rice or milk rice can be gd options as they are nutritious. do u kno poha or upma reciepies? u can get indian taste & easy too.
