My husband named the two male cats we rescued from a feral mother. Are "Scarty Cat" and "Parrot Face" weird names? I say they are - can you settle this argument???

Scarty is my husband's strange spelling of Scardy... I know it is not spelled correctly, but that is how HE spelled it... ROFL

well maybe you won't be too happy with where i'm going.... I've named many cats Kitty, Mama kitty, Black cat, Road kill (found him on the side of a road as a baby), and Meatball (he was a fat cat) so honestly i don't think the names are weird. A lot of people just call 'em by 'here kitty kitty'... Oh and here's another funny thing, I once named a dog Blacknose becasue it had a black nose and muzzle.

But just so your husband knows, the wife is always right no matter what...

They are quite peculiar names. I don't even know what Scarty means? Is it a typo and you meant to type Scary Cat? In which case Scary Cat is not a particularly odd name but certainly Parrot Face is.

I always think that if you are embarrassed to call your cat or dog home in public then it's an odd name. I lived next door to two neighbours one of whom had a child called Megan and who of whom had a dog called Megan. Plenty of confusion without an odd name!

Why not call them by the first word only?

It's not bad names. I usually pick a name that fits the cat. Not as weird as Stinker, Ha, and that she was. Maybe Scardy Cat is scared a lot and maybe Parrot Face has a parrot face.
Merry xmas hope you settle it.

Scarety cat and Parrot Face? Do you just not like the names because the cats don't care. Have a purrfect holiday.

I think "parrot face" is a cute name, especially if it "fits"....but "scarty cat".....in my opinion....don't really sound too neat.... I am the owner of 13 cats....and my two indoor cats are named Master T...and Rudie.....loll....

lol and I thought my cat's name was out of the ordinary. my cat's name is Elijah Kenneth ____-____ (my last name and my mum's maiden name). he was named after Eli Whitney and Elijah Wood. and his middle name is after my grandfather. my sister's cat's name is Morgaine Anitra.

your cat's names sound more like nicknames (we call my sister's cat scooter and my cat buddy and little boy blue and mr. purry pants lol). you should try suggesting giving them actual names and keeping those names as nicknames if it bothers you. if not then congrats on having unique cats. the cats are probably just happy to have a loving home so i don't think they mind no matter what you name them.
