I have heard that people drink it for health reasons...to cure the kidneys and one man blogs that he got off dialysis and no longer needed a transplant. Wasn't there a book about 30 years ago that wrote about "the white ape or something?

Many people stuck in dire situations have drank their own urine. In the short term, it may help you. The problem comes from dehydration. Urine is waste from your body. If you drink your own waste, you will be drinking the toxins your body is trying to empty from your system. Dehydration will make this situation worse, being that you do not have liquids to flush out your kidneys.

No, you cannot get sick. Urine is much better than the stuff you put in your body normally. Its pretty gross to do, but not unhealthy.

Apparently it didn't hurt the guy in Kingpin. Urine may be safe, it may taste like pumpkin pie...but I'll never know.

Urine is aseptic, meaning it is free of pathogenic organisms (so it is safe to drink)

if urine your own or others is tested in a laboritory & declared safe for drinking,then go ahead,i doubt however if there is a unit for such a test..being scientifically carried out.By the time you go through this procedure ,may be the thought will make you sick.It is true that in some countries people do drink their own urine,but that dosent mean it is safe or risk free.
