We're looking for something that does not have a special Christmas menu and has good food.

The Hotel Del Coronado has a fantastic Christmas buffet. Tom Ham's Lighthouse is open on Harbor Island. There are really quite a few places open, guess it just depends what & where & how much you want to spend.

Any place in Old Town San Diego is a good bet. The Butcher Shop in Chula Vista is another good place as is Mona Lisa in Little Italy (Corner of Hawthorn & India) in Downtown San Diego. Happy Dinning.

Try local hotels. If they have a restaurant they will be open on Christmas.
