This is the first time I've been in this part of YA. You have all had me hooked for hours now but I have to ask....

When the Christians respond to questions that they are unhappy with they refer to Satans work and Satan leading the atheists astray and the like, are you serious?
Do you really honestly think that?
Is it a scare tactic that worked on you as children that you have learned to use or do you believe it?
I'm not with you on the whole God thing but can accept that you believe that stuff and it works for you, but satan, the devil?
Do you have to believe in one with the other?
Can't you even just say that the people with different veiws from you are inherently evil?
Would it be Unchristian not to credit it to Satan?

I'm not trying to be arguementative or inflammatory, I guess it just never occured to me that grown ups believe in the devil.

Karma.

Either the whole Bible is completely true or it is completely false.

I believe it is completely true. Therefore Satan exists as an enemy of God. The Bible says that I am God's friend and therefore satan would be my enemy; especially from a spiritual warfare point of view. The Bible also says that as a believer, I am to hate what God hates and love what God loves. Anything that is not of God is ungodly, or, evil.

I do believe that satan gets too much credit, though. Many times it is just the evil in people that brings about evil. (The Bible says that the heart of man is evil.)

There's so much more, Karma...

Yes dear, grown ups do believe in the devil. He is real and a real part of the Bible. Christians believe that he was once an arch angel and the choir director in heaven until he got too full of himself and basically tried to take over. He thought that he could be greater than God Himself. At this point, he started a rebellion and God cast him and 1/3 of the angels out of heaven which are now known as demons. They are here on this earth and are pure evil. As for those who claim, "The devil made me do it," they are just makeing up excuses for their own lack of self control and poor judgment. It is not true. The devil does not have the power to make anyone do anything, but he does tempt them all the time. It is up to us to decide whether or not to take the bait.

Nobody should try to dodge personal responsibility for evil acts by claiming that they were under the influence of Satan. Humans are (and Christians will agree) creatures of SIN and EVIL. Either it has always been that way (as the evolutionists will suggest) or it has been since The Fall. The idea of Spiritual Warfare is an expression of human Vanity.

It is hard to believe in the Devil. Many actually believe in green men from mars than they do the bible. But really has the bible been proved wrong? No. it hasn't. In fact many prophecies , which really validate its value and origin have been coming true. There is a bible king named King Cyrus, his name was foretold in the book of Daniel 200 yrs before he was born. Things like that are impossible to denounce. But If the bible is really an inspired book by God, then yes understanding Satan is needed.

It is important to believe that Satan exist. No, persons with different view are not evil. But, like the bible example in the days of Noah, people were living a normal life. Is that bad, no, but by ignoring Gods warnings they did die. Is it unchristian not to credit it to Satan , well I'll say the bible is there for our benefit and to reprove and set things straight, as stated in the book of Timothy.

"THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT." Is too often an excuse. People have the choice to believe or not. Christians should not judge others, or attibute their acts to Satan.

I'm sorry for the immature Christians who have judged atheists and apologize for them. They need to remember the phrase "They will know we are Christians by our love." There is little love in judgement.

It is recorded in the Bible that both Jesus and God spoke with Satan. They are both grown ups. The best tool Satan has been able to use here on earth is convincing people that he doesn't exist. The Bible tells us that when Jesus took his place at the right hand of God his first act as king was to throw Satan and all the other disobedient angels out of heaven and down to the earth. Then it says, "Woe to the earth....because the devil has come down to you having great anger." Bible chronology tells us that this happened in 1914 and history confirms the woe that began on earth that year and continues to this day.

The devil and Satan are the same being. Just two different names you can call him.

It is a christian thing not to give him credit. What has Satan/Devil done for you besides tempt you to do wrong?

Just as we believe in God's word, we believe just what it says, and some of us actually study our Bibles. Here is a verse for you: James 2:19 KJV.

God is real and so is His adversary, the devil..It's not a scare tactic..it's not a game..It's real. You either believe the things that God has said, or you don't. There is no middle ground.
Death and destruction=the devil
Life eternal=God...pretty simple.
