NO not chop bones because they are very brittle and a bit could break away and get lodged it their throat

The problem with chop bones is that when they break they do not go to pieces but the splinter. This leave sharp points of bone that could lacerate the dogs mouth or if the pieces are small enough and swallowed they can do damage to the throat Right through to the other end. Definitely no chop bones. No turkey bones either for the same reason.
Have a happy Christmas.

Almost any bone can be eaten by dogs, even chicken bones.. HOWEVER they CANNOT BE COOKED. when they are cooked they dry out and will cause the bones to splinter with sharp edges. Raw bbq pork or beef rib bones are ok, in small amounts, dont hand them the bone however, as they might take it by edge and swallow the damn thing whole.. drop it on ground on in food bowl, where they need to pick it up, that gives some chewing as they adjust it in their mouths, and less chance of swallowing whole. For those that say dogs should not eat chicken bones, check out the BARF diet (Biological Appropriate Raw Food) I have been feeding chix to all 3 of my dogs for their whole lives, never having even touched kibble.

No never give a dog chop bones they might splinter and get stuck its not worth the risk, there is plenty of other things you can give a dog to chew on that are safe.

i would never give mine bones fullstop, never ever chicken bones. I think with chop bones would depend on the breed of dog. But personally i would say no. Carry on with the marrow bones, or pig ears

It is best not to give a dog any cooked bones as they tend to be brittle and break up into very sharp pieces, especially large lamb bones.
Also chop bones can become wedged in the dogs mouth. They get stuck across the roof of the mouth between the back teeth on each side of the mouth. I have had this happen to one of my dogs and he was tearing at his mouth with his paws to try and get rid of it. He ripped his gums to shreds just to move a bone from his teeth.

Raw bones are OK to give to a dog, but definitely not cooked bones. Cooked bones can splinter, and they can get stuck inside the dog which causes problems.

chop bones are too sharp and pointy to give to dogs, plus they do splinter.

Whatever bones you feed your dog just make sure they are raw bones and not cooked, all cooked bones splinter (even chicken bones are safe if given raw - I would still avoid giving the leg or thigh bones though).

Never give your dog chicken bones (thats a big no no) and only give your dog raw bones. Marrow bones are the safest to give the dog and is great for their teeth. I don't see any reason to give your dog any other type of bone.

You cannot give dogs bones like chicken bones or any sort of poultry because they splinter and can internally cut them. Stick with beef bones if possible. Not clear about what kinds of other bones you're talking about because all bones have marrow in them. That's the inside of a bone.

I was always told that chop bones were okay unless the chops were cooked (they then tend to splinter), but I'd avoid giving your pup chop bones all the same. Poultry bones are definitely out.
