ive already spent thousands of dollars on my skin but nothing seems to work. I've been receiving treatments from an esthetician for almost a year now. Lasers, microdermabrasion, chemical peels. Also been using the products they gave me. I've waited for results but i'm quite not satisfied. there's little or no change on my skin at all. Also, before i received the treatments i had tiny white bumps on my forehead that they were able to treat since they disappeared for a while. Now im worried why these tiny bumps are back when i'm sill getting treatments ( a chemical peel, and series of microdermabrasions). Also my forehead seems scaly and thick. Like there's a layer of skin covering it that needs to be peeled. My face became drier too. What' going on? I'd appreciate links to websites too that might help. thankyou.

This is stress, plain and simple. I am so sorry that a fellow doctor would put you through what they've put you through.... disgusting. Most doctors are in it for money, and if you believe otherwise, then you're being naive. Psychologists, dermatologists... etc... they love paychecks, the more you return, the more money they make. Be careful. Your problem is stress related, it's something they won't tell you here in America. I am so burdened that so much of this is going on in America....I constantly am asked by patients what alternatives do we have? European medicine, plain and simple... or Canadian.... the Canadians believe in healing and actually dealing with the problem before throwing procedure or drugs at it. What you need to do is first realize you don't even have a problem, then start with meditation to visualize this very thing, that no problem exist. Then, through yoga and educating yourself on stress-related skin diseases you can find your way out of the forest..... good luck, and be well, Jack

I love Mary Kay microdermabrasion- but I find that microdermabrasion alone is not enough to help. You need to use cleanser/freshener/toner, followed with microdermabrasion and then a moisturizer. Lack of moisture is probably why your face is becoming drier- you are stipping your skin of all it's natural elements in these treatments and not replacing the vitamins and moisture it needs.

Try the MK microdermabrasion-- best if you use the whole skincare line, I've put a link below to a free sample...

but remember, don't keep doing lots of different treatments to your skin, it's probably crying. You may need to let it rest for a little while, and breathe (no makeup) and then find one thing that works and stick with it. EVen though it might not appear to work right away you have to give it a chance and not switch around a lot.

Try the free sample-- let me know what you think!

I've had skin problems, but they're getting better now. I just simplified my routine. I made sure to use a cleanser morning and night, and I moisturize. Get an oil-free moisturizer. Also, I don't recommend exfoliating. It just irritates your skin if it's breaking out. The only kind of exfoliant you should use is microdermabrasion, but don'ot over-do it. I also started using a mineral makeup (jane iredale), and I love it. My skin felt so much beter using that than the other products i've tried. Once my skin got time to relax I would just use a little benzoyl peroxide (at night) on areas that started to get pimples. I've been using the Clearsil Acne Spot Treatment (or something like that).

Stop doing all of these things to your face. Chemical peels are aweful. They just make irritated skin even more irritated. The best thing for you to do is go very natural, so that your face can relax. There are a few products you can buy right inside wal-mart or even Target. Get some scrubs that do not irritate skin, and some facial buffers, if your skin is dry you will also want to find a moisterizer that does not clog pores. I promise that if you go natural with your face, most if not all of these problems will go away.

Maybe I missed something but I'm not quite sure why you are having this all done. The tiny white bumps might be an allergic reaction from a healing cream they may have put on your skin after wards???? I would speak to your dermatologist to find out if you are doing too much, maybe you do need to let it heal for a little bit. Would love to know why you are doing all these treatments?

I've always been nearly obessive compulsive about my skin care, so I'm going to try to suggest a few ways to help.
I've always believed skin is a reflection of a person's health. Usually with skin, I've found it's best to eat lots of fruit and healthy foods, get daily exercise, and drink lots of water. In other words, lead a healthy lifestyle. Getting rid of stress and enjoying yourself does wonders. Also, it's necessary to find a good daily facial cleanser that's right for you. I use Olay daily facial wash, because I have thin skin and it's gentle. Afterwards, I apply their lotion. If your skin is extra dry then I suggest a heavier lotion. From everything that i've tried, heard, and experimented with for the past years, this is the best method for healthy skin. Of course, if you've already resorted to laser treatments and all you have probably already tried everything you can in terms of these methods. If you haven't then it wouldn't hurt giving it a shot. However, the results from this takes patience as any changes with the body does. It's almost like trying to lose weight.

i'm not sure what happened there honey, but i'm doing chemical peeling at the moment and it works great making my skin smoother and getting rid of my clogged pores. and i'm planning to do microdermabration to cure my little acne scars. but if these treatments (maybe its the stuff that they pu on your face isnt right for your skin) are not working well on you you should stop it and do something more simple. get a good face scrub. i'm using one cheap durgstore scrub right now and it works great. Try St.Ive's. My skin is so much more clearer. Or try Lancome mask. I'm not sure which one it is, ask the MA. she'll help you. i heard that Lancome mask is great for peeling out your dead skin cells.

good luck.

ps. if you're not allergic to natural oils, then try massaging some on your face. it might help with your dry skin. I have something to recommend. try Biotherm AquaSource (i think?). The beige one for dry skin. it has all the water you need and it will help out with your dry skin. dont rely on treatments. rely on your skincare regimen

you may want to consider that the problem is deeper than the skin. i know someone who had the same problem with her skin- she started seeing a thickening and an orange peel type texture and also very dry. simultaneously she was losing hair. she went to the doctor and it was her thyroid.

it makes sense that it could be caused by your hormones being off, since none of the other treatments are working. If you are having any other weird symptoms, you may want to consider having it checked out!

good luck.

What skincare do you use in between treatments? Retin A (tretinoin) is very good and so are Alpha Hydroxy Acids and L-Ascorbic Acid Serums (pure vitamin c). Also do you use sunblock daily, because that is very important to protect your skin during all these treatments. HTH : )

Your skin is peeling because of what your doing to it. It's dry because it's damaged and burnt.
If I send you a sample of a product i sell, would you be willing to try it exclusively for about 5 days?
I recently gave a sample to a girl with similar problems, who's skin is so sensitive. She couldn't use clinique, mary kay, Merle Norman or any of that....but my product worked great and her skin loved it!
Please e-mail me, I'd love to try to help you.
I won't spam you...I'm not a pushy salesperson or anything, just a mom and wife who has found wonderful skin care products and decided to share them with others.
