I'm not sure what category was right, but because this was written on the cover of a bible she left me I put it in this catagory.
What might my grandmother have meant when she wrote to me,
"Mitt Gottes Legen Mitt Gottes Vinn u, liefs"?
I understand there are different dialects but I'd like at least something reasonably close, please?

Yes the writing is somewhat shaky and could be ..
"Mit Gottes (Legen) Segen"
"Nit (Mit) Gottes Ninn (Vinn) u, liebs"
Someone suggested Legen was washing or something, so would that make sense somehow?
Also someone suggested "u" was fool.
Any of this help to decipher?

You must have gotten some of the letters wrong, in this form the words make no sense.
The first three obviously are "Mit Gottes Segen" = "With gods blessing"
The last word could be "Liebe" = "love"
But "Vinn" is unintelligible to me. And I am German and know several dialects. If you scan it and put it somewhere, maybe I could read it. On the other hand, old people often have a difficult handwriting. I assume you cannot ask your Grandma any more?

None of the online translators could provide a clear meaning for this text. I checked three.

Remember this could be a family version of an old German saying that will be hard to translate without knowing where they came from in Germany.

they can translate things from german to english, and i am sure you would get better results there then you would here :)
