I see your question got some peoples knickers in a twist. Good for you, LOL!
Personally, I think you should go ahead and get the town together. I'm sure that once you get the City Council and Chamber of Commerce on board with the stoning, they will probably find some way to promote the event for the good of the town.
You might even get a parade or carnival thrown into the deal if you play your cards right. Everyone loves a parade!

Well, as George Galloway would say: "What a silly question". But I think this proves the point instead of misquoting or misunderstanding get a bible teacher and read interpretations by scholars.
Similarly to my Christian friends, stop misquoting the Quran, it also needs to be understood with the proper context and interpretation.

Jehovah was not only the Israelite God, he was also the governor of Israel. Today we cannot stone anybody because it is against the law. God does not make our governing laws, but when he had his nation Israel, that was the law of the land. Remembering that the Jews grew up knowing the law, and knowing it was in direct violation to do such thing, its like stabbing Jesus in the back.
Hope this helps.

Plato, my friend ... I assume you are posting this for the fundamentalists who promote strict adherence and literal translation?
That being the case, I prefer the private family gathering ... (it's so much more intimate) ... no need to air your dirty laundry in front of the whole town.
