I know the prices have already dropped so much, and I may be pushing my luck for asking them to go any further, but will after-Christmas sales for HDTVs be significant enough to make it worthwhile to wait and buy?

I personally rather buy things leading up to the holidays because I am always afraid that I am going to get a return or reburbished product after the holidays. Usually, retails stores offer the best deals before the holidays trying to make the Q4 sales goals plus they are trying to get rid of inventory.

Look for the bundles, freebies, negotiating to throw in the warranty and financing plans. I was able to negotiate $1000 off total bill, if I bought a tv, warranty and tv stand at Circuit City. I have found that Circuit City is more open for negotiations than Best Buy.

If you find a really good deal, get it now, HDTVs ,( DLP ) are really getting the recognition now and I think they will go up in price. However, most places will have to get rid of their stock after Jan 9th to introduce the new lines of TVs so take a chance if you want, but that is what you are doing, taking a chance.

I just purchased an LCD HDTV about 2 months ago and have already seen the price go down atleast $200

Pick some tv's you like and checkout a site like nextag.com to compare prices & online vendors...

Hope this helps
