Hello, I’m here to look for help because I can’t find it and I’m really desperate, please be serious in your answers.

Since I was a kid I always feel sad, alone and strange; with suicidal ideas.

When I was 13 I start to feel worst and start to have problems sleeping. And when I was 16 I start to be medicated (I used to take Haldol, altruline, trileptal and Rivotril ) that was my first prescription) my mom take me with another doctors and they remove some drugs and change my Dx.

When the last Dr. remove almost all my drugs; I don’t what happen but i start to feel better and that was like a 3 years period.

But know, I’m sick again (a lot of Depression!!!) I’m going from a Dr to Dr to find a cure, but I can't. Being honest , I don’t know if I can still trust on doctors.

So… do you know if there’s something that I can do to be better? Like exercise? avoid caffeine? Read some kind of books? What I can do?

I’m currently 24y.o., I’m an engineer, I lose my job, I’m still on therapy (with a psychology ) and my last Dx was Border limit Disorder (6months ago)

I Hope you can help me. I wanna be ok.

Sorry the grammar, English is not my first language

Hi , you have my sympathies , my daughter has suffered from borderline personality disorder ( BPD ) for nearly 10 years now and we have been with her every step of the way.

We feel she has been the test subject for many of the different drugs that the so called professionals in mental health peddle as a cure and although some work for a while numbing the effects & feelings, they are not the answer for what it sounds like both yours and her experience. Depression can affect everyone , however it is only a state of mind that can best be described as excessive pessimism.

She is now off all these medications and using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy ( CBT ) which helps by teaching coping strategies to avert the feelings and thoughts experienced & channel them to a useful method , that way making the bad good..

Everyone is different and although there are similarities in symptoms you must try and find a set up that will be right for you , there is no proscribed system for all.

I suggest finding support in the area of CBT / DBT therapies , keeping a positive attitude at all times / never drink alcohol !
It makes you depressed & exercise at least once a day for an hour to assist with the vitality you may feel you have lost.

Most importantly you must remember that you are in control and make the positive choice to be better Good luck & God Bless.

It sounds like you were almost written off(left to get on with it). I would suggest reading up on mental health in your local library(reading is therapuetic), then I would do a food diary because sometimes people eat the wrong foods and those can trigger allergys and bad feelings.

Medication will not help you alone so get in touch with your gp about some cognitive therapy and talk to someone about your feelings. You are obviously in tune with your inner self and know what happens when left alone to cope with them. Self- help maybe more sufficient than trusting the doctors and at least it gets you out while doing it.

Make sure you exercise plenty too- maybe enrol in a gym programme to keep those seratonin levels up(happy hormone).

Good luck keep ya chin up it will get better

Counselling is always a good start, another thing you could do is try a new hobby.

I went through depression when i was 18 and went on a confidence building course, they got me in touch with a dog rescue centre and ive been volunteering there ever since! (im 25 now).

Going for walks, listening to happy music (pop). it all helps with depression, but the best thing is talking to a professional about it as they will be able to direct you to a way of dealing with it that will suit you.

Good Luck!

hi roberto,
so sorry to hear you're feeling so down. as a mental health professional (although not in the UK) it doesn't sound to me as if borderline is definitely the correct diagnosis, so don't focus on a cure for this (quite serious) condition. since noone can advise you without knowing you and the ins and outs of your symptoms, the best you can do is speak to someone you trust and who knows about mental health issues (your psychologist?) and get a recommendation for an experienced doctor (a psychiatrist, not a GP!) who'll be able to help you. i wish you all the best...

ok i have borderline personality disorder had it since i was 11 ... i recently come out of a theraputic communtiy which seemed to help me lots!

i learnt that when ya feel a feeling u have to explore it deeper think of why you might feel sad about that certain thing ... or why ur angry about it.

thinking positive when ya feel like crap is so hard but ya got to talk urself into it. when ya feel like ya just dont want to get up out of bed or ya dont want to go out ... make urself and u will feel glad ya did after even if it doesnt feel like it at the time!

excessive excercise helps some, taking walks in pieceful places giving urself time to think, go kick a ball about imagine it as ur stress

i hope this helps a little bit

I know what you are going through and you are not alone. I have emotionally unstable personality disorder amongst other things and I know how hard it can be. If you ever want to talk please email me and I will reply and try to help as much as I can. You can try distracting yourself when you feel bad by reading, or cleaning or anything, or get in touch with me.
