Buy a product called liquid smoke, mix it with ketsup, brown sugar, and worchestershire sauce until it taste good to you, the liquid some is very powerful a little goes a long way, just Google liquid smoke and I'm sure you can purschase it cheap online

Kitchen bouquet. Soy Sauce would do but it would make it salty. Most BBQ sauce get their color in part with caramel color.

hmmm... i dont know what you put in yours, but maybe some brown sugar, or worchestershire sauce, or mix red and green food colors, that makes brown. dark karo syryp, powdered au jus sauce.
